Vincent Van Gogh was one of the greatest painter of Post Impressionism. His first exhibits were in the late 1880s.He died at an early age of 37 due to suicide, it was said that he had mind illness and he suffered from deep depression. His works were recognized only after his death, when his works were shown on an memorial exhibition. He was also the inspiration of Expressionism and Abstract Expressionism. This song was also taking about Vincent’s life and his painting The Starry Night.
Vincent-Don McLean
“For they could not love you
but still your love was true
and when no hope was left in sight on that starry
starry night.
You took your life
as lovers often do;
But I could have told you
Vincent
this world was never
meant for one
as beautiful as you.
now i understand
what you tired to say to me
how you suffered from your sanity
how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen
they’re not
list’ning still
perhaps they never will..”
